Carpet up, subfloor patched and skimmed flat. It is the unglamorous half of a floor job and it is the half that decides whether the finished floor lies right.

Demolition & tear-out
The old carpet, tile or plank comes up and goes out, and the subfloor underneath is patched and skimmed flat before anything new is laid on it.
Block, brick, stone & concrete masonry
Brick and block work run to a line and a level — piers, corners, veneer and repairs, on houses and on commercial sites.
General contracting & handyman
The smaller jobs that fall between trades, and the post-construction clean-out once the work is finished.

Callahan Construction covers both halves: floor covering and the tear-out that comes before it, and block, brick, stone and concrete masonry when the job calls for it. Do you take the old floor out as well as lay the new one?
Yes. The old carpet, tile or plank comes up and goes out, the subfloor is patched and skimmed level, and the new floor goes down on top of it.
What kind of flooring do you install?
Plank flooring — engineered, laminate and luxury vinyl — and stair treads to match the run.
Is it just floors, or do you do masonry too?
Both. Block, brick, stone and concrete masonry are half of what Callahan does — piers, corners, veneer and repairs.
